Hy-Vee Fishing Derby
One fish, two fish, red fish – you fish!
The Hy-Vee Fishing Derby is a fun, free event that is held annually at Water Works Park in Des Moines. The Derby gives children up to 15 years of age the chance to fish and win great prizes. You’ll see a lot of fish, but you’ll see even more smiles. And if you aren’t interested in fishing, that’s okay - we need nearly 200 volunteers to help the day of the Derby – with parking, picking up trash, handing out t-shirts and helping kids with bait.
